Is it possible to pedal steel guitar in an old electric guitar?
Electric guitars have been modified to produce effects pedal steel for many years. (do a web search for Parsons Bender chain to get an idea of what can be done). As for the actual production plant on a pedal steel that lets you change the pitch of each string, I think she could do, but I think it has some potential problems of adjustment due to the fact that the neck of the guitar is not usually stiff enough to resist bending when the line voltage changes. Guitar Necks contain adjustable truss rod designed to combat unwanted tilt caused by a static string tension. Thus, the advantages outweigh the brute force and not cause the cervix to remain impassive. If the changes in string tension in the neck moves. This is one reason why the pedal steel that are made of thick slab forming a thick neck in one piece and body. So nothing moves chain tension changes. That and that is practical and robust support for the attachment. Install hardware on a guitar neck homemade and the body as suggested is not a bad idea. Probably the most elegant approach. If you insist on using an intact guitar suggest bolting and screwing or gluing and (body tape on bare wood before gluing) to a wooden block in the length of the guitar together. Then attach the neck to the slab on the wrist with long screws go through wooden spacers, closing the gap between the wrist (pegha) and the slab. This will immobilize the neck for more stable slab adjustment and provide mounting points for supporting and adjustment. I hope this was useful.
