A species of Mustelidae family, the closest relatives of ferrets are badgers, otters and skunks. Scientifically known as Mustela furo is a Latin name for ferrets and wild black-footed ferrets are known as Mustela nigripes. Ferrets that you find in pet stores have been particularly selected for domesticated pets and are therefore good for someone who wants to face a small animal ever. Domestic ferrets need lots of attention. The wild ferrets are just a wild animal. I strongly suggest that all wild animals are left in their natural habitat.
